SDK Editions

All editions

  • All editions are available to customers only. The Metova SDK is not available for licensing by a general third party.
  • The runtime is free, there are no royalties or distribution fees.

iOS and Android

The iOS and Android SDK source code is available to customers and uses the Apache License. Like any free software license, the Apache License allows the user of the software the freedom to use the software for any purpose, to distribute it, to modify it, and to distribute modified versions of the software, under the terms of the license.

BlackBerry

The BlackBerry SDK represents a very significant investment by Metova and is not open source. Metova does provide access to tools and the libraries under the following editions:

Basic edition

  • Free
  • Access to SDK used in the final Metova built release of the application
  • Separate SDK jars for different operating systems
  • SDK Access restricted to functionality utilized by application as delivered by Metova
  • One-time library build as of the final release as requested by customer.
  • SDK releases will be based on current code only, which will require the application code to be up-to-date. No historical releases will be created at a later date.
  • Time necessary to bring application code up-to-date with the current SDK will be performed on a time and materials basis.

Enterprise edition

  • Access to any release, including named releases, nightly, and snapshot builds from the continuous integration server.
  • Single source code base/multiple operating system automated build tool (Maven plugin)
  • Full SDK access, customer is free to exploit any functionality in the SDK

Notes, etc.

1. Available to Metova professional services customers only, not available to the general public. The Free edition is available as of 4/22/2009.
2. Upon acceptance by customer first final release, one binary archive of the libraries will be created and delivered as requested. For each subsequent release requested by client, effort needed to produce the binary archive is billable at the standard hourly rate. BlackBerry Enterprise edition customers enjoy nightly and continuous integration builds at no cost.
3. The BlackBerry Basic edition is limited to the named application produced by Metova's professional services. The BlackBerry Enterprise edition is limited to named production applications as determined by customer.
4. Regular business hours 9am - 5pm Central (GMT-6) M-F. All support contact is billable at the standard hourly rate.
5. The BlackBerry Basic edition libraries will be restricted to the functionality necessary to support the application as built by Metova. The BlackBerry Enterprise edition will all for full exploitation of functionality included in the SDK which Metova may or may not have originally built for customer.
