Getting the Device's Event Log
Using the computer (preferred)
- Connect your BlackBerry device to your computer with a USB cable.
- Download javaloader (See attachments below, or if you have a RIM JDE installed, it is located in the JDE/bin directory)
- From a command prompt, navigate to the directory containing javaloader, and execute the following:
./javaloader -u eventlog > eventlog.txt
Using your BlackBerry
| This method is not preferred because the log may be truncated to the maximum length of an email. |
- From your BlackBerry's home screen, not inside any applications, hold down "Alt" and push "LGLG" (L, then G, then L, then G).
- Click on the menu button, and choose "Copy Day's Contents"
- Create an email on the device to a developer (firstname.lastname@metova.com), and in the message body, choose "paste".
- Send the email, and then follow up with an email of the issue you're experiencing.
