Metova announced a partnership with Shift, a talent development company that works to help current and former members of the military get great jobs at great companies. At Metova, we’re always on the hunt for great people who can make the right decisions, even in fast-moving situations. Shift is an important partner for Metova in the quest to offer a career advancement tool for veterans.
About the Partnership
Metova will be a Shift SkillBridge partner. The Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge program is an opportunity for separating or retiring service members to gain valuable civilian work experience and facilitate a smooth transition into the civilian workforce. Shift is an approved DoD SkillBridge provider that can help veterans make a match with participating host companies for a full-time internship in a role that leverages their strengths and experience and supports their post-military career goals.
Shift also offers Defense Ventures. Shift’s Defense Ventures Immersion is a partnership with AFWERX to deliver an industry immersion program that selects innovative officers, enlisted, and civilians in the midst of their careers to join venture capital and technology companies across the US for eight weeks to bring the latest commercial tech trends and innovation back to the Department of Defense. Metova has applied to Defense Ventures as the next step in their Partnership with Shift.
Existing Connections
Metova President, Josh Duntz (JD) has a pre-existing connection with Shift’s founder and CEO, Mike Slaugh, as they both served in the Navy together. JD completed a Business Development Representative (BDR) internship with a startup in San Francisco through the Skillbridge program, which helped him break into the tech industry. After his internship, he transitioned into a full-time position at Shift.
Now, as a leader at Metova, JD is excited to partner with Shift and help transitioning service members find their place in the tech industry. He acknowledges the value of Shift’s resources and says:
“Shift is an amazing resource for technology companies looking to leverage veteran talent for their teams. When I transitioned out of the Navy, Shift facilitated a Skillbridge internship for me as a BDR that led to my first full-time role as an Account Executive at Shift. Shift really paved the way for me to break into tech, which ultimately led to my position here at Metova. I look forward to paying it back to transitioning service members by bringing in Skillbridge interns on our growing team here at Metova.”
