The Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF), established in March 2011, is a civil organization supporting the Syrian people’s demand for freedom and democracy, irrespective of ethnicity, region, or background. SETF advocates in solidarity to inform the American public about Syrian suffering while addressing the humanitarian crisis and promoting respect for human dignity and freedom. They offer humanitarian support and funds, focusing on Internally Displaced People, specifically orphans, besieged civilians, and those in most need. To advance these efforts, SETF needed help developing a mobile app and chose Metova to deliver the right strategy, design, and technology solution.
As part of the volunteering program “MetoValue,” Metova offered support to the SETF team to create a native app on both iOS and Android platforms. Metova created a secure application to share updates on attacks, including a specific map of the location and type of attack, as well as specific comments to increase awareness and provide assistance for the Syrian population. The Syria Watch app receives notifications in real-time, including a historical view of recent activity.
Metova built native mobile applications for the SETF team to broadcast critical information and create a channel for the public to receive alerts. Metova assembled a dedicated team to assist this humanitarian effort, creating an application with a simple design and an effortless way to create and broadcast notifications.
Metova implemented a well-defined QA process to ensure the design and delivery requirements exceeded SETF expectations. They utilized a suite of automated and manual test cases to verify functionality, performance, and stability.
