Metova Chairman Josh Smith to Be Honored by Arkansas Academy of Computing

Metova is proud to announce that our Chairman, Josh Smith, will be honored by the Arkansas Academy of Computing on November 7, 2025,  for his longstanding leadership and contributions to the technology community in Arkansas and beyond.

Josh has been a driving force within the state’s technology landscape for more than two decades. A native Arkansan, U.S. military veteran, and seasoned executive, he has led some of the region’s most impactful technology organizations — always with a focus on innovation, community growth, and meaningful digital transformation.

Before serving as Chairman of Metova, Josh was our Chief Executive Officer, leading Metova’s evolution as a trusted partner for technology strategy, nearshore development, and large-scale digital modernization. Under his leadership, Metova expanded its service offerings, deepened partnerships with enterprise clients, and strengthened its commitment to delivering quality-driven engineering solutions.

Josh’s influence spans far beyond Metova. He previously held senior tenure at Acxiom, where he helped architect data-driven environments for financial services and global enterprises. He also served as President at SEAS Education, worked with FIS Global, and co-founded First Orion — a communications technology company now recognized internationally for its work in call protection and branded communication.

In addition to his industry leadership, Josh is a founding member of the Arkansas Coding Academy, which provides accelerated training for individuals seeking careers in software development and engineering. The program has become a vital pipeline for growing Arkansas’ technical workforce, opening doors for new talent across the state.

At Metova, Josh continues to guide the company’s long-term vision — ensuring our strategy, culture, and capabilities align with the needs of customers, employees, and the broader tech community. Josh has been instrumental in shaping Metova into the company we are today, and we’re excited to see his contributions recognized by the Arkansas Academy of Computing.
