Karen Fletcher, a developer at Metova, did a lot of great work and had a nice time teaching at the AR Girls Code event.
Put on by Startup Junkie and hosted at Metova’s Fayetteville office, the event was attended by about 20 girls aged 10-14 years. For many it was their first coding experience. Presenters lead the girls through website creation using HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
Each attendee created their own original website from scratch on topics including puppies, narwhales, or their favorite book series. Parents came in at the end and the girls showed them their creations, then emailed the code to their parents so they could keep working later.
