Metova Named Software Developer/Architect of the Year

The mobile app developer was honored at the Nashville Technology Council’s Technology Awards Gala last night

FRANKLIN, Tenn. Oct. 24, 2012 – Custom mobile app developer Metova, Inc. was honored last night at the Nashville Technology Council’s annual Technology Awards Gala, which was held at Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

Nashville Technology Council logoMetova’s development team won the award’s Software Developer/Architect of the Year category. Travis Roberts of Centresource and Josh Bush of Firefly Logic were the other two finalists vying for the top prize.

The event recognized Middle Tennessee’s tech community—its companies, leaders and innovators. The Technology Council received over 225 nominations for 12 awards—the most nominations ever—and a team of 48 judges selected the finalists.

The Software Developer/Architect of the Year award was presented Metova’s development team as the top group of software developers in Middle Tennessee that demonstrated leadership, drove innovation and delivered value to their organization.

Metova’s development team of roughly 20 developers offers world-class mobile application development services, targeting the Android, iOS, Blackberry and Windows Phone platforms. Some of the team’s 2011 customers include, eHarmony, Xobni, Dropbox, WebMD, VMware, Yelp and Slacker.

“Our team seeks to build simple, yet elegant solutions that meet our customers’ goals,” explained Metova President Kevin Ross, who accepted the honor on behalf of the company. “Our customers have come to expect transparency, accountability, prioritization, control of backlog, weekly deliverables, accessibility and capability of our development team, and the team consistently delivers.”

The gala was attended by more that 500 individuals who gathered for a night of celebration, networking, food and entertainment. The event included a red carpet entrance, reception, dinner, presentation of 12 awards and the introduction of a Technology Hall of Fame.

The other award categories were Social Media Strategist, Sustainable Community, Volunteer of the Year, Tech Student of the Year, Tech Educator of the Year, CISO of the Year, CIO of the Year, CTO of the Year, Innovator of the Year, Early Stage Company of the Year and Company of the Year.

Former Nashville Technology Council President and CEO and current Chairman of Stratasan Tod Fetherling was inducted into the Technology Hall of Fame.

“We were honored to share the evening with so many organizations and individuals at the heart of Middle Tennessee’s tech community. It’s a great event and we were thrilled to be included and even more excited to have won,” Ross said.
