Ranked 3523 on the prestigious annual list
FRANKLIN, Tenn. Aug. 20, 2013 — Mobile application developer Metova has made the 2013 Inc. 500|5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. This is the third year in a row the mobile app developer has cracked into the rankings. Listed 3523 overall, Metova cited a three-year growth rate of 87 percent.
Metova, which employs more than 85 people in four cities: Franklin, Tenn. (Metova’s headquarters), Cabot, Ark., Augusta, Ga. and Washington D.C., ranked 31st out of the 43 Middle Tennessee area companies that made the list. The company also ranked 251st nationally within the software industry.
Metova is a full-service development shop with an emphasis in mobile apps for smartphone and tablet platforms, including Android, iOS, BlackBerry and Windows Phone. Last year, the Inc. 500|5000 listed Metova 1614 overall, and in 2011, the firm was one of only five companies in Tennessee to be listed on Inc.’s 500 list, ranking 492nd.
“The mobile app development market continues to be a hot one, and we expect to grow our services and staff of programmers this year and in the years to come,” said Dave McAllister, president. “For example, to continue to adapt to the needs of our customers, we recently expanded our development offerings to include back-end, Web and cloud services.”
According to the magazine, companies are chosen for the list by comparing revenue growth from 2009 to 2012. Companies must be U.S.-based, privately held, independent, for-profit and not a subsidiary or division of another company. Revenues in 2009 must have been at least $100,000 and at least $2 million for 2012.
